Insulation & Sanitation

Insulation & Sanitation

Once the pest activity has been eradicated then the next step is to remove the old and/or contaminated insulation and sanitize the area. Sanitation is always recommended as well especially if you find mold, moisture, rodent urine, rodent droppings, rodent nesting materials or even worse dead rodents. Insects can also use your insulation for nesting material along with carrying infectious diseases.

We will make sure that any contaminants found in the affected area will not spread to the rest of the house during the removal process. Once the old insulation has been removed and the area has been sanitized, it’s time to install the new insulation. The type of insulation that is installed and how much of it you need will vary. Our team will guide you through the process and will outline the recommendations, along with the advantages and disadvantages of each option.

Types of Insulation Service We Offer

TAP Pest Control Insulation: TAP® Pest Control Insulation represents a unique and innovative solution to pest control and energy efficiency. This product is distinguished as the only one to be registered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for pest control, in addition to bearing an ENERGY STAR® label and UL Classification.

TAP® Pest Control Insulation not only surpasses traditional insulation in maintaining year-round thermal stability in structures, but it also effectively deters and eradicates pests such as ants, cockroaches, termites, and silverfish, among others, from infiltrating your living and working environments.

Spray Foam Insulation: Spray foam insulation is an excellent choice for improving energy efficiency and comfort in homes and buildings. It provides superior sealing by expanding to fill cracks, gaps, and hard-to-reach areas, creating an airtight barrier that prevents air leakage and reduces energy loss. This leads to lower heating and cooling costs and enhances indoor temperature consistency. Spray foam also acts as a moisture barrier, reducing the risk of mold and mildew, and adds structural strength to walls and roofs. Its long lifespan and ability to improve indoor air quality make it a durable, eco-friendly insulation option that boosts overall property value.

Eco FriendlyBatt Insulation: Eco-friendly batt insulation is a sustainable and effective option for insulating homes and buildings. Made from renewable or recycled materials like wool, cotton, or recycled denim, it reduces environmental impact while providing excellent thermal and acoustic insulation. It is non-toxic, safe to handle, and often free from harmful chemicals, making it a healthier choice for indoor air quality. Easy to install and durable, eco-friendly batts are a cost-effective solution that helps lower energy bills, supports sustainability, and contributes to a comfortable, environmentally responsible living space.

Insulation Removal & Sanitation: Removing and sanitizing old insulation is essential for maintaining a healthy, efficient, and safe home environment. Over time, insulation can accumulate dust, dirt, mold, and pest droppings, which can compromise indoor air quality and pose health risks. Damaged or contaminated insulation also loses its effectiveness, leading to higher energy bills and reduced thermal performance. Sanitizing the area after removal ensures that any lingering allergens, bacteria, or odors are eliminated, creating a clean foundation for new insulation. Replacing old insulation with fresh, effective materials enhances energy efficiency, improves indoor comfort, and prevents future pest or mold issues, protecting both your home and your family’s well-being.

Insulation Checklist

Here is a list of items that need to be done before the installation day arrives:

Spray Foam Insulation VS Eco-Friendly Mineral Wool Insulation

The higher the R-Value of an insulation product the more effective the insulation. The high R-value of spray polyurethane foam (SPF) makes it more effective at reducing air leakages than any other insulation. Closed-cell polyurethane foam insulates 50% better than traditional fiberglass and cellulose insulations. SPF can reduce 40% of the home’s energy lost through air infiltration and exfiltration.

Polyurethane spray foam is also a vapor barrier that protects buildings against moisture. Protective barriers prevent the occurrence of mold and mildew, therefore it can be used for outdoor applications as well as indoor applications. Its strong and solid structure adds structural support. Spray foam is also used to reduce noise and to provide heat and moisture control. SPF reduces the transfer of airborne sound thus acting as a sound barrier through doors, walls, or floors. It also improves the air quality by sealing out allergens.

Spray foam is durable, long-lasting, and cost-effective. Spray foam insulation may be a bit more expensive than the traditional cellulose and fiberglass insulation, but when compared to the energy savings the investment in spray foam makes economic sense.

Adding Eco-Friendly Mineral Wool insulation to your home is the best way to lower your carbon footprint. The added protection from the elements means you use less energy to heat your home and retain your air conditioning longer. There are other benefits of eco-friendly insulation too:

l Safe and Sustainable Materials: Natural and sustainable are buzz-words across the consumer goods spectrum and for good reason. One of the best benefits of eco-friendly insulation is that they generally contain less harmful chemicals, such as formaldehyde, a known carcinogen. Most cause less skin, eye, and upper respiratory irritation, and many are made of recycled materials – diverting waste from landfills.

Lower Manufacturing Costs: Embodied energy – the manufacturing cost of producing something – is very high in some insulation types such as fiberglass, which can take up to ten times the energy to create than cellulose insulation. Environmentally friendly materials such as cork, wool, or even shredded denim require minute amounts in comparison.

Energy Savings: The best of the benefits of eco-friendly insulation is that it helps you be green elsewhere. Better insulation means you need to burn less gas or fuel to run your furnace. Additionally, green alternatives can also provide a much higher R-value per square inch!
